Set in acres of parkland, Mellerstain House is one of Scotland’s finest stately homes. A unique example of Adam design, it has exquisite interiors adorned with paintings by Ramsay, Gainsborough and Van Dyck.

The family residence of the 13th Earl of Haddington, Mellerstain is an outstanding example of 18th-century architecture. Designed by William Adam and his son Robert, it presents a complete picture of a stately home as it would have been 240 years ago. The renowned interiors are distinguished by their fine plasterwork, superb furniture collection and paintings. Artistic highlights include works by Ramsay, Gainsborough, and Van Dyck, Garofalo and Lucas van Leyden.
