With a National Art Pass you get

LUX is an an international arts organisation that supports visual artists working with the moving image, with an exhibition venue in North London.

Building on the work of its predecessor organisations the London Filmmakers Co-operative and London Video Arts, LUX represents the UK’s only significant collection of moving image works produced by visual artists, dating from the 1920s to the present day. It boasts a huge reference library and has a venue in Waterlow Park with a dark exhibition space geared to showcasing film and video works.

The collection

LUX has the UK’s largest collection of artists’ moving image by more than 1000 international artists, with over 6,000 works spanning almost 100 years, constantly adding new works by contemporary artists and restorations of historic works.

What to see

Works from the collection can be viewed onsite at its building in Waterlow Park (booking advised) it also offers free exhibitions, a mediatheque, events and workshops. There is also a large a library of books, catalogues and journals on artists’ moving image works, practices and the ideas that surround them.
