Built in 1821, the Old Speech Room was intended as a chamber in which to encourage public speaking.

In 1976 it was converted into a gallery to hold the school's distinguished collections of Egyptian and Greek antiquities, English watercolours, Modern British paintings and some sculpture. Artists represented include George Romney, Sir Winston Churchill, Sir Cecil Beaton and Victor Pasmore.

Autumn/Winter 2021 Opening Hours

The gallery is open to the public between 2.30-5pm on the following days: Friday 5, Tuesday 9, Thursday 11, Friday 12, Saturday 13, Tuesday 16, Thursday 18, Thursday 25 and Tuesday 30 November, and Friday 3 December.
