Based on Pentonville Road in London, this is the Crafts Council’s public space dedicated to craft – host to exhibitions and events year-round.
Committed to telling the diverse stories of craft and making, the Crafts Council Gallery includes a flexible exhibition space, study area filled with 5,000 publications, and a welcoming reception area. Designed to foster collaboration, the gallery is open for hire and partnership working on its programme, through both private events and public exhibitions.
The redevelopment of the Grade II listed chapel that is the gallery’s home was completed in 2020, with renovations uncovering the existing parquet flooring and stripping out the suspended ceilings to increase height internally. The redesign includes furniture by Sebastian Cox, and the transformation of the outdoor courtyard.
With a history spanning over 50 years, the Crafts Council is home to the UK’s leading collection of contemporary craft, with more than 1,600 objects in its holdings.
