The museum is dedicated to preserving the history of the UK road transport industry, exhibiting an array of vintage commercial and public vehicles, from buses and fire engines to delivery trucks, and even a steam powered lawnmower.
Housed in a former inspection building dating back to the 1930s, it explores an industry that was instrumental in the development of the town of Leyland. Visitors can enjoy the display of more than 60 vehicles of special significance designed and produced by British manufacturers, including the 'Pope-mobile' built for Pope John Paul II's visit to Great Britain in 1982.
Refurbished in 2019, the museum also offers an insight into the life and work of factory workers and drivers, celebrating the great inventors of technologies that continue to shape our daily lives.
