Combining more than 30 different divisions, the Bodleian is the largest university library system in the UK.

The collections of the Bodleian Libraries number more than 12 million printed items, in addition to 30,000 e-journals and materials in other formats.

The Old Bodleian is also a major visitor attraction, drawing over 300,000 visitors a year with its programme of temporary exhibitions.

The Space of Reading by Tania Kovats, a permanent commission acquired with Art Fund support, is a sculpture created from casts of 21 open books and installed above the public entrance of the Weston Library. The work focuses on the physical presence of the book and alludes to the diversity and richness of the Libraries' collections.
