Home to the 12th Duke and Duchess of Marlborough and birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, Blenheim Palace was built to celebrate victory over the French in the War of the Spanish Succession.

This 18th-century baroque masterpiece is the home of the 12th Duke and Duchess of Marlborough and the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. The palace houses portraits, tapestries and exquisite furniture, as well as internationally important antique collections.

The palace and its formal gardens and park were designated a World Heritage Site in 1987 and include over 2000 acres of ‘Capability’ Brown landscaped parkland, grand cascades, formal gardens, and historical monuments such as the Column of Victory, Grand Bridge and Temple of Diana.

Also on display around the palace are the famous Victory Tapestries, which commemorate John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough’s victories at Blenheim, Ramillies, Oudenarde and Malplaquet.

You can also visit the gorgeous Blenheim Palace in a digital space, experiencing a wealth of behind the scenes content, tours and events from home on a virtual website.
