Built across 800 years, from medieval tower to 21st-century gallery, Blair Castle is a manifest history of Scottish architecture.
The ancestral home of the Dukes and Earls of Atholl, Blair Castle has accumulated fascinating collections over its long and illustrious history. The earliest parts of the castle date to 1269, and the original medieval building was expanded with major developments in the Georgian and Victorian periods.
Visitors will walk through the magnificent entrance hall, ballroom and bathrooms designed by Edinburgh architects David Bryce and William Burne in the 1860s. Recent developments by Jamie Troughton and Hugh Broughton have added a contemporary twist to the castle, including Banvie Hall, a spectacular new exhibition space.
