This attractive gallery was built in 1901 as a gift to the town of Stalybridge by John Frederic Cheetham and his wife Beatrice Astley.

It hosts a programme of temporary exhibitions by regional artists, alongside a display from the permanent collection of mainly British works that changes twice a year.
