Striking young contemporary artist, Jadé Fadojutimi brings her rich and colourful paintings to Hepworth Wakefield.

Jadé Fadojutimi’s work is primarily made of large-scale paintings, recognisable by their vivid graphic imagery and bold use of colour. Combining abstract and figurative techniques Jadé explores her own identity, investigating how it’s shaped by the social and cultural environment we live in.

While some of her paintings are completed swiftly in one setting, others are slowly worked on over time – this way of working reflects how the artist investigates her own memories and experiences, transferring them to the canvas in different ways.

Explore Jadé’s work within the context of the Hepworth Wakefield’s collection of modern British art - there are many insightful connections between this exciting contemporary artist and the modernists that came before her.
