Showcasing the best in figurative, observational and painterly work accross the UK, this annual exhibition includes painting, drawing and prints by members of the New English Art Club and emmerging artists.
Founded in the 19th century, the New English Art Club traces its history through artists such as Stanley Spencer, David Bomberg, Vanessa Bell and Gwen John. More recent exhibitors include Royal Academicians such as Humphrey Ocean, Anthony Green and Anthony Eyton.
The club has from its outset sought to celebrate strong developing artists at an early stage in their career. This year's headline prize is £5,000, while the Doreen McIntosh Prize will be awarded to an artist whose work fulfils the club's ideals of rigour, immediate engagement with the visual and a searching attitude. Winners will be announced along with a number of other awards for outstanding work.
