An exhibition exploring the styles, ideas and events that shaped Scottish art during the 1920's.

The 1920's was a period of contrasts, high spirits and sombre contemplation, of grand aspirations and hard realities. One hundred years since the dawn of the ‘Roaring Twenties’, Bright Shadows explores the styles, ideas and events that shaped Scottish art during this influential decade.

Selected from the City Art Centre’s own fine art collection, this exhibition presents a range of paintings, drawings, prints and sculptures. Featured artists include Stanley Cursiter, SJ Peploe, JD Fergusson, Dorothy Johnstone and William McCance. New acquisitions by Eric Robertson and William Wilson are also on display for the first time.
