An exhibition marking the 50th anniversary of the original publication of the iconic crime novel, Get Carter by local author Ted Lewis.
Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the classic 1970 novel, Jack’s Return Home, which was re-published as Get Carter after the release of the iconic film the following year.
In this open-call exhibition invited artists, illustrators and designers were asked to re-imagine the cover of Ted Lewis’ book (either under the title Get Carter or the original Jack’s Return Home). The exhibition features an international selection of 25 artists inspired by Ted Lewis and his work including Kelly Barfoot, Amy Bucki, Ben Bucki, Daniele Bongiovanni, Abbie Cairns, Sean Coleman, Kirsty Dawson, Kevin Dolan, David Green, Tom Hackett, Peter Heaton, Gareth Hughes, Richard Hyde, Bronek Kram, Richard Lees, Dale Mackie, Michael March, Nick J Morfitt, Playborough, Simon le Ruez, Yulia Sharova, Mr What and Mrs Why, Steven Whitton and Jonathan Wilkinson.
The artworks are being shown alongside original versions of the Jack’s Return Home and Get Carter books.
