This biennial exhibition of contemporary art celebrates artist’s unique perspectives on the world today, highlighting the power of art as a catalyst for raising awareness and igniting change.
Following an open call, 24 artists were selected to be exhibited at the Eastbourne coastal gallery, showcasing a range of artists living and working local to Sussex, Kent and Hampshire, as well as those exhibiting nationally and internationally.
The exhibition looks at how artists record and respond to the current political, economic, cultural and environmental climate, delving into the changes occurring in the world today. Through a range of varying mediums including photography, painting, ceramics, moving image, sculpture and installation, the featured artists explore an array of different themes through their unique works. Geo-political studies, reimagining colonial photography and reflections on diasporic cultural displacement are just some of the topical issues on display.
The exhibition is connected by the common thread of community, identity, collaboration and time, echoed in the work of all 24 artists while displaying their individual skill and unique perspectives.
