A new commission of work by artist Rachel Pimm, with a soundtrack by Lori E. Allen, depicting the world’s tectonic plates in constant flux.

In a visual and sonic response to the earth’s moving plates, this new commission brings together words, sounds and images of dynamic shifting landscapes, such as the Giants Causeway (Northern Ireland) and the Afar Triangle (Ethiopia).

With a particular focus on exploring changing patterns in nature, as well as examining the historical patriarchal frameworks of scientific study that have influenced our understanding of the plates today, Pimm’s art conveys the world in a continuous state of erosion and constant change.
