Exploring Victorian Newlyn through the work of the Newlyn School of artists, focusing on celebrating the inside.

The Newlyn School of artists are best known for their paintings in outdoor settings, however, having originally been attracted to Newlyn due to the spectacular Cornish landscapes, they came to appreciate the beauty and potential of its indoor counterparts, painting local homes, sail lofts and schools among other indoor dwellings.

This exhibition focuses on that side of their work, featuring paintings of Cornish interiors by Walter Langley, Elizabeth Forbes, Stanhope Forbes and Frank Bramley, providing a unique insight into Victorian life in Newlyn.
