This exhibition has now closed, find out what else is going on at Southampton City Art Gallery

This exhibition traces the Pre-Raphaelite thread from its inception into the 21st century.

Informed by the legacy of the Pre-Raphaelites, this exhibition follows the movement’s influence on artistic developments including Realism, Aestheticism, Symbolism and Art Nouveau.

Displaying stunning imagery from across the decades, it demonstrates that Pre-Raphaelitism lives on in contemporary fantasy, book illustration and film as well as inspiring artists today.

This exhibition is supported by the Weston Loan Programme with Art Fund.
