This exhibition tells the story of the nearly 4000 children who made Britain their home during the conflict in 1930s Spain.
The Spanish Civil War broke out in 1936. A far-right military coup against the elected government in Spain led to a brutal conflict targeting civilians and forced thousands to flee to Britain and other parts of the world as refugees.
The exhibition will include work from the students of Hugh Myddleton school in Islington made in response to the accounts of the child refugees.
The Basque Children: The Story of Child Refugees from the Spanish Civil War is presented in partnership with the BCA '37 UK (Association for the Basque Children of the UK) and the Marx Memorial Library.
