See the famous 'Your Country Needs You' poster in the hometown of the artist Alfred Leete.

Alfred Leete was a graphic artist who produced advertising campaigns for companies including the London Underground and Younger’s Ale. He was once described as ‘the funniest man in the world’ and his cartoons gently capture the comedy of everyday life and politics.

All these aspects of his career are represented in the exhibition. But his iconic image of Lord Kitchener demanding 'Your Country Needs You' is the centrepiece. The poster of the Secretary of State for War recruiting for the British Army in the First World War is on loan from the Imperial War Museum.

This exhibition is supported by the Weston Loan Programme with Art Fund.
