As part of celebrations for the 250th anniversary of the Royal Academy, this exhibition features works by the artist Ethel Walker RA (1861-1951).

Ethel walker was a Scottish artist of portraits, flower-pieces, sea-pieces and decorative compositions.

With many works on loan from the Royal Academy, the exhibition's highlight is Walker's portrait of Dame Flora Robson, the celebrated actor of stage and screen who was born in South Shields.
