An exhibition of photography and film celebrating the tapestry studio and Scottish craftsmanship.

Inspired by a period of visits to Dovecot in 2017, David Penny has created an exhibition interpreting the exquisite skill of the weavers and shedding new light on wider craftsmanship in Scotland.

Exploring the materiality of objects and aesthetics of technology through the footage and pictures collected, the project comprises images that offer a focus on the forms, gestures and structures of the process of weaving.

The parallels between the disciplines of photography and tapestry are also examined.
