An exhibition of 50 river scenes by Sir Alfred Munnings reveals another side to this renowned painter of horses.

During the Second World War, following the requisition of his home, Munnings worked and painted on Exmoor.

Here he produced stunning images of the hills and rivers around him.

A major series of these pictures is included in this special exhibition exploring Munnings artistic and literary responses to the river, a subject which remained a constant motif throughout his life’s work.
