Tacita Dean: Still Life

National Gallery

15 March – 28 May 2018

Tacita Dean curates diverse works over a variety of mediums responding to and exploring the legacy of the still life genre.

Tacita Dean, Prisoner Pair, 2008

Still Life brings together a mixture of Dean's own work, including a new film diptych made especially for the exhibition, work from her contemporaries such as Wolfgang Tillmans, Roni Horn and Thomas Demand, and historical paintings from the National Gallery's collection.

The exhibition will form a part of an unprecedented collaboration between three major London galleries, the National Portrait Gallery, Royal Academy of Arts and National Gallery.

They will each present a show by Dean where she interprets an area central to the respective institution’s work. Tacita Dean: Portrait opens simultaneously at the National Portrait Gallery on 15 March and Tacita Dean: Landscape will open at the Royal Academy of Arts on 19 May.
