This UK presentation of work by seven artists who participated in the Diaspora Pavilion at the 57th Venice Biennale features Larry Achiampong, Kimathi Donkor, Michael Forbes, susan pui san lok, Paul Maheke, Erika Tan and Abbas Zahedi.

They are drawn from the list of 19 artists who took part in the Pavilion in Venice last summer, where a total of 37 works across a variety of media demonstrated the complexity and continued relevance of diaspora as a lived-in reality – while challenging the notion of ‘national’ pavilions within the festival structure.

Co-founded by David Bailey, Nicola Green, Peter Clayton and David Lammy, and curated by Bailey and Jessica Taylor, the Pavilion functioned as one part of a two-year project set up to provide professional development opportunities to a group of 11 artists with the assistance of 10 mentor artists.

Supported by Art Fund, this exhibition is a restaging of works from the Biennale, with the artists presenting some new works in dialogue with those exhibited in Venice.
