Frank Quitely is the alter ego of Glasgow-born artist Vincent Deighan; a pseudonym he took on in his early career to hide his identity while he drew for the Scottish publication Electric Soup. Now the name Frank Quitely is synonymous with iconic characters such as Superman, Batman and the X-Men.

This exhibition will be the largest collection of his work ever displayed, giving visitors the chance to get up close to his iconic images. There will also be original artwork from legends of the comic book industry such as Frank Millar, as well as an original Batman comic strip by Bob Kane.

In addition, the show considers the influence on the comic genre of heroic myths and the Scottish storytelling tradition, alongside reflections on the modern world, current affairs and technological development.
