History through a Lens: Iconic Photographs from the Incite Project
25 February – 9 May 2017
A display of iconic photographs that have changed public perception of world events.
Drawn from a collection of photojournalism and documentary photography, many of the images on display have appeared in the press – but here they are presented as works of art in their right.
Included are some of the classics of 20th-century photojournalism, from a rare shot of the Normandy D-Day landing to a picture capturing Nelson Mandela in his cell on Robben Island.
Featuring more than 75 photographs, the exhibition reveals how these thought-provoking images have affected the way we think about contemporary issues.
