This exhibition in the artist's hometown brings together work from across his multidisciplinary oeuvre.
Idris Khan's art draws on his interests in classical music, history, literature, philosophy and religion. Although he works across photography, painting, sculpture, moving image and installation, each piece shares the same multi-layered quality, as Khan employs a process of creation, erasure and then recreation.
Two new layered glass paintings are included in the exhibition, as well as a sculpture that has never been shown in the UK before.
One particularly poignant image is White Court, a photograph the artist took of a squash court wall at the former primary school where his late mother used to play.
