Celebrating this dynamic design duo and their extraordinary work at the Eames Office.

The Eameses treated their office as a laboratory where, alongside their collaborators and staff, they worked on producing some of the most incredible and pioneering designs of the 20th century.

While they are well-known for their iconic furniture designs – particularly the Eames chair – the pair actually had a far more expansive oeuvre that encompassed architecture, graphic and product design, painting, drawing, film, sculpture, photography and props.

More than 380 objects produced over four decades are used to chart their revolutionary approach to design practice. What is especially interesting is that the Eames were driven by philosophical ideals; they embraced the potential of technology and science for the common good, and saw no separation between life and work.
