Follow Bellany's extraordinary career, from the early paintings of fisherfolk in his native Port Seton to the recent landscapes of his adopted home, Tuscany.

Back in the 1960s John Bellany hung his paintings on the railings of the Royal Scottish Academy. Now they will line the walls of the august institution in this major exhibition to mark his 70th birthday.

On show will be paintings, watercolours, drawings and prints from all the key periods of his career, beginning with the celebrated early paintings of fisherfolk and their boats through his darker and wilder paintings produced in the 1970s and 1980s to the vibrant allegorical works of more recent years.
