Two heady photographic cityscapes side by side for the first time. What Klein did for New York – exposing the gritty side of the American Dream – Moriyama did in Tokyo a decade later, exploring the melange of the ancient and modern in postwar Japan.

Around 300 works, from vintage prints and film stills to contact sheets and archive material, will trace the influence of Klein’s 1956 book Life is Good & Good for You in New York, Trance Witness Revels through Moriyama’s work of the early 70s.
