Set in the stunning grounds of Ham House, Garden of Reason is an exciting interactive exhibition that offers challenging new ways to interpret heritage, open space and modern art.

Weight of Air, Ruth Proctor

Inspired by the 17th century gardens and the socio-political context of Ham House's history, eight contemporary artists present themes including horticultural innovation, the development of scientific knowledge and the impact of the Restoration on women's rights.

Ham House will also be hosting a rolling programme of live art, talks and tours by participating artists and curators throughout the season.

Opening times

Garden, Orangery cafe and shop open 10am to 5pm, closes at 4pm in the winter and the house 12-4pm. House may be open by guided tour on selected days during the winter. Please visit the Ham House and Garden website for full seasonal opening times
