The Yorkshire Sculpture Park is coming good on Miró's insistence that 'sculpture must stand in the open air, in the middle of nature,' with this first major survey exhibition of the Catalan artist's sculptures.

Although they have sometimes been overlooked, Miró considered his three-dimensional pieces to be just as important as his paintings. The survey begins with smooth bronze pieces from the 1940s, before moving on to constructions of found objects produced from the 1960s onwards, and the later painted bronzes. The artist's 'phantasmagoric world of living monsters' will be on show in the underground gallery.
