More than 40 works from the Hickman Bacon collection, one of the most important holdings of British 18th- and 19th-century watercolours, go on show at the Abbot Hall Art Gallery.

The exhibition is built around a number of Turners, and other highlights include works by fellow innovators John Robert Cozens and John Sell Cotman.The exhibition sits well with the Abbot Hall Gallery's own permanent collection of Lake District watercolours, offering visitors a rewarding investigation of the medium.
