This unique exhibition is the first ever to examine lawn tennis in art.

It brings together delightful images by a wide range of artists, from Stanley Spencer and Eric Ravilious to Winnie the Pooh illustrator EH Shepard and David Hockney.This unique exhibition is the first ever to examine lawn tennis in art. It brings together delightful images by a wide range of artists, from Stanley Spencer and Eric Ravilious to Winnie the Pooh illustrator EH Shepard and David Hockney.On show are loans from major collections such as Aberdeen Art Gallery, Kelvingrove Art Gallery, Glasgow, the National Portrait Gallery and Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum, as well as from many private collections. The exhibition also includes a wide range of tennis equipment, photographs and memorabilia in the main exhibition space. This helps trace the development of the game from its local Victorian origins in the nearby Edgbaston area.
