While Leighton House is a world renowned exotic house, its architect George Aitchison (1825-1910), remains a deeply under-appreciated figure.

In addition to his work for Leighton, Aitchison also designed some of the most beautiful interior decorative schemes of his time. These featured contributions from many of the artists and designers involved in the creation of Leighton House, including Leighton himself. This is the first exhibition in over 30 years to explore Aitchison's career and includes a number of his interior designs described as 'amongst the most exquisite and colourful 19th century architectural drawings in existence'. these include not only the plans for his masterpiece at leighton house, but other gorgeous plans too.
