Several of Cézanne's paintings on this favourite theme are being shown alongside his portraits of Provençal peasants.

Paul Cézanne's famous paintings of peasants playing cards have long been considered among his most important and powerful works. This landmark exhibition will be the first to bring together the majority of these remarkable depictions, alongside a magnificent group of Cézanne's closely related portraits of Provençal peasants, as well as rarely seen preparatory oil sketches and drawings.
