In 2009, four students from Durham University journeyed along the Trans-Himalayan Highway to find out if tourism was taking its toll on the culture and lifestyle of the people living in this isolated region of India.

This exhibition features some of the amazing images they captured of the region's constantly evolving mix of cultures, together with the stories gathered from those they met along the way. It provides a fascinating insight into people - overlooked by the tourist trail - who are living and working along the highest road in the world.
