At the time of Ramsey Abbey there were numerous Meres (freshwater lakes)around the Island of Ramsey itself, the biggest without doubt was Whittlesea Mere.

Then came Ramsey Mere, Ugg Mere, Brick Mere, and Benwick Mere. This talk will concentrate on Ramsey Mere, drained circa 1840.

The entry price includes 1 cup of tea or coffee and the Museum Tea Room will be open for wines, beers and snacks.
