Join author David Palin to discuss how the spark of an idea becomes a novel. David, a writer of dark psychological thrillers, sometimes touching the supernatural, will examine whether, during the creative process, the plot drives the characters or the characters drive the plot. This interactive discussion is an opportunity to share your ideas and partake in some creative writing.
David, a Londoner and lover of the Highlands, is intrigued by the things that hide, often in plain sight, in the shadows beyond the light of our everyday lives. He has four published novels and is working on his fifth.

As part of the creative writing exercise, David will bring a selection of ‘random’ pictures to spark people’s imagination. Attendees can bring a pen and paper if they are interested in participating in the exercise.
