Brian Griffiths and Frank Kent talk about their current exhibtion at the Van Gogh House, as part of their collaboration Air Signs.
Air Signs are an ongoing series of photographs by Brian Griffiths and Frank Kent. They have been recently exhibited in London and São Paulo, included in the Royal Academy Schools 250 Print Portfolio 2019 and are in private collections in the UK, Brazil and USA.
In the form of a photographic installation across all eight rooms of the restored three storey Georgian terraced house, Life and its most trivial particulars responds to the accumulated histories and constructed realities of the building, from the early-19th century to the present day. Transposing still life and landscape, everyday materials and objects, sculptors Griffiths and Kent present their carefully staged and situated photographs as sideways moments of focus and narrative.
