This event has now passed, find out what else is going on at National Horse Racing Museum

Join us for a demonstration on the art of making horseshoes and how to fit them onto a horse.

Gavin Moody has 25 years of experience as a farrier and has worked with some of racing’s most prestigious yards.

International jockey Jimmy Quinn is kindly lending Gavin his horse so that he can show us how to fit horse shoes onto all four of Star's feet! If you’ve ever wondered about the skill that’s required to make and fit horseshoes, or you’re interested in pursuing a career as a farrier, come along and have a chat with Gavin about the ancient craft of farriery.

Why not make a day of it and pre-order a picnic from the bakery to eat in our beautiful grounds, or book a table at the Tack Room for lunch?
