Experience a walking tour of Wapping.

From the artist JMW Turner to sea captain and pirate, Captain Kidd, Wapping has an eclectic history. A gruesome burial, a tiger on the loose and a place that saw many executions, discover things about Wapping you never knew on this walking tour. The tour will take you to the High Street, Dead Man Stairs, Tabacco Dock and St George's in the East.

Meet 10 minutes before your tour starts at Wapping Overground station.

Opening times

Sat and Sun, 11am – 5pm

ONE-WAY SYSTEM There is a one-way system throughout the site with one entrance and one exit. At the end of the event please exit via the Terrace following the Exit sign, which will be clearly marked.


The entrance to the loos is through the side entrance to the Engine House (clearly signposted) and there is a one-way route downstairs to the two toilets.


All staff and volunteers wear masks inside the Museum.
