Brian Hill reads his series of poems written for the Spirit of Beyond exhibition.

Brian has written poems reflecting the work of various artists, and several inspired by Alison Dunlop’s work. His fascination with the Shiants began after reading Adam Nicolson’s Sea Room. His long connection to Gairloch provides him with the sense of time, land and seascapes unique to Wester Ross.

Brian Hill, 50 years a poet, writes in English and Scots. His work has been published online at Poetry24 and Here Comes Everyone, and in print with Written Tales, Volume 3, Poets’ Republic Vol 9 (2021), and in pamphlet form: Last Year’s Words.
