This event series is part poetry reading, part open mic, with the guest poet and theme changing each month.
Our 2021 contemporary poetry reading series, Go to the poets, they will speak to thee, is curated and hosted by poet, Kim Moore. We will be listening to what poets have to say about our turbulent times, and how poetry can cross borders to challenge, delight and inspire us.
William Wordsworth once wrote that “Dreams, books, are each a world; and books, we know, Are a substantial world, both pure and good”. This month we invite you to bring a poem to read on the open mic that explores knowing or not knowing.
Our featured guest poet Anthony Anaxagorou will read from his latest collection After the Formalities (Penned in the Margins, 2019). His work explores the male body and parenthood, combining the personal, political and historical to create new ways of knowing.
