A free online event with guest speakers, artist Laura Wilson and archaeologist Maisie Taylor.
In this free evening event, artist Laura Wilson discusses her newly-commissioned film Deepening (2020) with archaeologist Maisie Taylor. Join us for a special online screening of the film and conversation, followed by a live Q&A with the artist.
Deepening is a new film work that explores the hidden landscape of Must Farm at Whittlesey, near Peterborough. The Must Farm pile-dwelling site is an exceptionally well-preserved settlement dating to the end of the Bronze Age (c. 850BC) and located on the edge of a working quarry. Deepening explores this unique landscape opening up questions around labour, trade and everyday life.
Laura Wilson was commissioned by Norwich Castle Museum and Art Gallery as part of New Geographies, a three year project funded by the National Lottery through Arts Council England Ambition for Excellence.
