Join visual artist, Laura Onions for an experimental portrait drawing workshop and meet like-minded students a relaxed online session.

Barber and Birmingham-based visual artist, Laura Onions leads this experimental portrait drawing workshop that blends abstraction and figuration, aiming to capture the excitement and anticipation of starting university life.

Meet other like-minded students in this relaxed session as Laura leads us on an exploration of the expanded field of portraiture, responding to the Barber's painting, A Portrait of Arthur Huc (1892) by Maurice Denis. We will play with the drawn line to capture texture and space as we explore abstract drawing as metaphor and create our own experimental portraits.

This free workshop is for all levels and abilities with no prior art or drawing experience needed. Pick up a pencil or pen and make a mark. We look forward to bringing our collection to your place!

This event is tailored for student participants (18+) and hosted over Zoom. You will receive joining details after booking.
