This event has now passed, find out what else is going on at Chawton House

We are excited to announce our first outdoor cinema event with a screening of Emma (2020).

Enjoy Autumn de Wilde’s sumptuous adaptation of Jane Austen’s classic novel, Emma in the historic grounds of Chawton House. Purchase your refreshments and popcorn from the Old Kitchen Tearoom before taking your place on the South Lawn.

Handsome, clever and rich, Emma Woodhouse (Anya Taylor-Joy) lives a comfortable lifestyle with her hypochondriac father (Bill Nighy) and delights in matchmaking. This beautifully made, fresh, funny and fast-moving version of the much-loved novel is a charming and faithful adaptation.

Please note: This event will take place whatever the weather and tickets are non-refundable. In the event of particularly bad wind or rain this event will move inside our barn and the film will be screened in two sittings: 6-8.15pm and 8.30-10.45pm.

You will be emailed with an update on Thursday 10 September when fairly accurate weather forecasts are available.
