In John Newling’s 2011 installation Value; Coin, Note and Eclipsethe artist grew more than 80 pots of Jersey Kale (Brassica Oleracea) in his Nottingham garden. The fascinating pants grow a very tall, sturdy stem (up to 18 feet high!) and are topped by a fluff of cabbage/kale leaves. Historically grown in Jersey, the fully grown the stem can be dried, varnished and used as a walking stick. In this drop-in you will learn how to pot and grow your own Jersey Kale.
