Rommi Smith, our Poet in Residence for April, will read finished and in-progress poems accompanied by bassist and composer Kenny Higgins.
Smith will explore themes of landscape, sense of place, and the concept of Wordsworth’s archive being a continuous sentence flowing from the library and the official archives out into greenery of the landscape and ultimately existing in the imagination. She is accompanied by bassist and composer, Kenny Higgins. The event will include short readings from local writers, including the Dove Cottage Poets.
Rommi Smith is a poet, performer, theatre-maker and librettist, and a winner of the Northern Writers’ Prize for Poetry 2019. She is the inaugural British Parliamentary Writer in Residence and inaugural Poet in Residence for Keats’ House.
