Join us for a talk and interactive display from the Time Travelling Cook centred on tea shops found in Perth during the Victorian era.

The display will be of different teas, cakes and equipment used for Victorian high and low tea with visitors encouraged to make a personal tea mix to take home and try.

Younger visitors will have a chance to decorate a simple cake, similar to ones that would have been on offer in tea shops around Perth.

The display will be available all day and talks will be ongoing and include why tea shops became popular, the difference between high and low tea, what teas were available and what foods/cakes would be eaten as well as the general changes in food around the 1900s.

This project is part of the Perth Placemakers element of the City Hall Participation Plan.
